The Art Academy

The Art Academy was founded with the purpose of benefiting society through art and art education. Our aims are:

 - To contribute to the creation of great works of art

 - To provide the highest standard of education to students wishing to become professional artists

 - To give creative opportunities to the wider community

 - To encourage debate around the practice and principles of Higher Education in Fine Art

Our principles are:

 - The development of creative skills, both traditional and contemporary, allows freedom of expression.

  - Each student should be trained to develop a robust creative process which allows them to be true to their creative vision.

- Creativity is best nurtured in a small, dedicated and vibrant artistic community.

- The Academy can best achieve its aims by remaining independent, student-focused and free from unnecessary bureaucracy.

The Academy is not burdened by the issues of formal accreditation, thus freeing us to put our time, energy and resources into providing the best possible education for students. We are not reliant on external subsidy, which protects us from the vagaries of changes in policy.
